Consider Nottingham and the vast majority of tourists recall the legend of Robin Hood, his merry men and Sherwood Forest and though this adds greatly to the local economy year on year there is a great deal more to the city of Nottingham than your would think. Infact Nottingham has a respectable selection of fascinating tourist attractions making it an excellent place for a family vacation and the article below discusses the city and a small number of visitor attractions in, and close to, Nottingham, as well as some guest houses offering B&B accommodation in Nottingham.
The city of Nottingham is located in Nottinghamshire, in the East Midlands. England, United Kingdom. As well as Sherwood Forest, the legend of Robin Hood, his band of merry men and the Sheriff of Nottingham, the city of Nottingham is also widely known for the industry especially during the period known as the Industrial Revolution when the city an amazing worldwide reputation.
Nottingham Lace Market
Once the center of the world’s lace industry, during the time of the British Empire, Nottingham’s Lace Market is, now, a protected heritage area. The area is home to many superb examples of industrial architecture of the 19th Century. The market wasn’t like a normal market area, as such, instead of having stalls and salespersons, the lace market was a number of warehouses and salesrooms selling and displaying lace. Following the collapse in the lace industry the area also fell into decline however, nowadays, the vast majority of the fine warehouses have been renovated for alternative use such as photographic studios and the likes. The Lace Market is a popular tourist attraction.
Galleries of Justice & Shire Hall
Not too far from the Lace Market can be found the Galleries of Justice in Shire Hall. The Hall is a Georgian-built civic building featuring Neoclassical pilasters, columns and dome. The front of Shire Hall has, if you examine it carefully, a misspelled word Goal rather than Gaol. The Hall has two excellently preserved Victorian courtrooms plus bath house, old cells, a women’s prison, a prisoner’s exercise yard and an Edwardian police station.
The City of Nottingham is a perfect place to have a vacation. You will find plenty to see and do within the city and a huge number of visitor attractions within easy reach. Nearby places worth visiting include; Newstead Abbey, Wollaton Hall and Hardwick Hall.
As is common in all England bed & breakfast accommodation, Nottingham accommodation is mostly of excellent quality at a reasonable price and many people choose to stay in Nottingham for part of their break and then somewhere else for the remaining time.

Enjoying My Vacation
I have a small house on the outskirts of the city, which I use as when I just want to get away from it all. It’s nothing fancy, it just has a couple of rooms and a bathroom, but I like it very much. I get to leave the noise of the city behind me, and get some relaxation. The garden is also large enough for my kids to play in, and my wife loves it as well.
The only problem that spoils this idyllic time is that we always discover something there’s something we miss in the kitchen, so I have to go shopping, and the nearest shop isn’t quite close, so I have to drive there. First I thought of buying a bike, but I’m not exactly the sporty type, so I imagined it wouldn’t have been fun to ride up the hill with a lot of stuff on my bike, so I gave it up. A few weeks ago, my wife gave me idea: what about buying a scooter? My son could use it, too, when he’s grown up a little.
I started looking on the internet for something to suit my needs, but also kept my son in mind. I didn’t want something that would drive too fast, and preferably, not use any gasoline. Everything I looked at was more that I was willing to pay for. Just when I was about to give up, something drew my attention.
The razor pocket mod seemed to be the perfect thing. I wasn’t convinced that something so cheap could be any good, but why not try it, anyway? I ordered it on the Internet, and it arrived in no time, and in one piece, so all I had to do was let it charge over night. Next morning I went shopping on my new Razor electric scooter.
Everything was smooth and I was more than happy with my purchase. My kid saw it and wanted to give it a try too. Even though I was a little concerned at first, he seemed to get the hang of it quickly, and he was driving around the garden in no time. Now he’s bugging me to get something bigger, so I can give this one to him. Kids…

Weekend Breaks In Perth And 3 Worthwhile Places You Must See
The ‘Fair City’ of Perth in Scotland was, at one time, a royal burgh stands at the head of the Tay estuary. During the 12th and 15th centuries the city fought with Dunfermline to be the capital of the country of Scotland. In the following article I write about three places to visit in Perth, Scotland; Elcho Castle, Scone Palace and Huntingtower Castle:
Scone Palace
At this time, home of the Earls of Mansfield is Scone Palace, and a increasingly popular attraction to tourists from all over the globe. Scone Palace is an important part of Scotland’s history, as the Scottish kings were once crowned there. In 1306, Robert the Bruce was crowned at Scone Palace, as was Charles II when he took possession of the Scottish Crown in 1651. There is a mysterious and beautiful atmosphere to the palace, which is rightly so.In the past the site served as an important gathering place of the Picts and there was also an early Christian church on the site.
Elcho Castle
Located around three miles from Perth, with awe inspiring vistas across the River Tay, is Elcho Castle. Elcho Castle is one of the finest examples of 16th century architecture in Scotland today. The Wemyss family authorized the building of the castle in the 1570’s. The land had belonged to the family since 1468, when it was granted to them by King James III. In 1633, the head of the family was given the titles of Lord Elcho and Earl of Wemyss. Elcho Castle and it’s lands stayed in possession of the Wemyss family until 1929. It was then, the 11th Earl of Wemyss, gave the castle to the nation. The castle has recently been restored and is now in the hands of Historic Scotland.
Huntingtower Castle
Located just west of Perth is the medieval pile of Huntingtower Castle. Although the castle is originaly medieval, it has been redeveloped significantly throughout most of it’s history. The Ruthven family were occupiers of the castle and lands from the twelth to seventeenth century. During this time the castle consisted of two separate towers, constructed three meters apart. When the Murray family took occupancy, later on in the seventeenth century, they decided to merge the two towers, making the house look more like a ordinary country manor house. The bridging work between the two towers is still clearly noticeable today, on both the inside and the outside.
